We are excited to announce the public beta release of Twipster.
What is Twipster?
Twipster is a platform for sharing life experiences through location-based photography and maps. You can use Twipster to do things like photowalk, tell a story, journal a vacation, track geocaches, or just share where you've been.
What is a Twip?
A "twip" is a series of geocoded images that are connected on a map. We call this a "journey" because it traces your path through the experience of taking photos. Think of it as a "photographic trip".
What Does It Cost?
Twipster is free. You should never be asked to pay a fee to use Twipter!
How Can I Get It?
Twipster is currently available for Symbian S60 Series phones. It will work with any internal or Bluetooth enabled GPS device.

There is also a download link available at twipster.com which will install directly from the phone's web browser.
If you have previously installed an older version of Twipster, we strongly recommend that you update with this version. None of your data will be lost in the upgrade.

So I guess it costs 250$ to patch a broken iPhone from Apple and I'm guessing that they don't like broken phones so I found a patch...
Not even a week after getting my jail broken iphone, it failed the first drop test. I guess I'm too comfortable with dropping phones since i've dropped the n95 at least 10 times and other than a little rattle, it's still in pretty good condition. It appears that I didn't take into consideration that the iphone is made of glass although I still feel a little let down, I guess it's my fault for dropping it. At least it still works...

A new build is almost ready. This will provide additional data from the gps unit which is successfully carried over to Flickr. We will be releasing this build by early next week and will notify everyone when it's available. Please contact us if you have any questions.

I've had several people ask about exif support in the last few days. Twipster provides full exif support, not only for the exif data that is written by the device camera, but once you upload your photos, we write additional data on the server. The next release will be available at the end of this week which will support even more data in exif headers. We will be adding support for altitude, speed and bearing as well as other data that is derived from the gps module on on phone. The only catch here is that many external services do not preserve this data. Flickr appears to do the best job of maintaining this. We are also writing location data to the Flickr API so your photos are identified by Flickr.
